Tasmanian Independent Bottlers The Blend (Oat + Malt + Peat) is Duckett turning the dial from “clever” to “slightly unhinged” – oat whisky softness smashed together with peated malt fire and then tamed in sherry wood.
Built from Belgrove oat whisky and peated malt from Adams Distillery, the spirit is married and fully matured in second-fill sherry (including 2nd-fill PX) at the TIB bond store outside Hobart. Bottled at a muscular 53.4% ABV (the highest TIB strength to date) and released in 500ml format, it’s a small-batch blend that still drinks like a Heartwood cousin.
In the glass, think creamy oat richness wrapped around dark sherry fruit, spice and a rising wave of peat smoke – thick, chewy, and built for slow pours rather than polite tasting flights. With only around 178 bottles in existence, this “oat + malt + peat” mash-up is equal parts curiosity piece and seriously drinkable Tasmanian monster.
TIB The Blend (Oat + Malt + Peat) – oats for texture, peat for trouble, sherry for the win.
