Discover a rare gem from Scotland’s whisky heritage with the Littlemill 25 Year Old Private Cellar Edition 2015 Release. Crafted from the final stocks of the historic Littlemill Distillery—Scotland’s oldest licensed distillery, which closed its doors in 1994—this exceptional Lowland single malt offers a unique opportunity to experience a piece of whisky history.
Maturation & Presentation:
Distilled between December 17, 1989, and April 4, 1990, this whisky was matured in a selection of ten American and European oak casks. These casks were then married and finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, enhancing the whisky's complexity and depth. Bottled in 2015 at a robust 50.4% ABV, the release is limited to 1,500 individually numbered bottles. Each bottle is presented in a luxurious wooden case, accompanied by a 5cl miniature and a piece of stave from the original casks—a tribute to its storied past.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Delicate floral notes intertwine with vanilla, clover honey, and ginger root, leading to hints of prune, walnut, and raisin.
Palate: Rich and assertive, featuring a harmonious blend of floral tones, clove, ginger, honey, and cocoa, complemented by molasses and cinnamon.
Finish: Long and sherried, with a dry, spicy flourish and lingering notes of ginger, anise, honey, and vanilla.
The Littlemill 25 Year Old Private Cellar Edition 2015 Release is more than a whisky; it's a testament to a bygone era, offering connoisseurs and collectors an unparalleled tasting experience.
