Distilled at Lark Distillery in September 2008 and dedicated to Lyn Lark, this ex-Lark release spent its life in a single Oloroso sherry cask (LD530), picking up rich fortified depth and a subtle thread of peat along the way. Bottled in August 2016 at a ferocious 67.2% ABV in 500ml, the cask yielded just 280 bottles – all muscle, no filler.
In the glass, expect full-bore sherry: dense dried fruits, dark caramel, old oak and spice, with that whisper of smoke holding it all together and a finish that doesn’t so much linger as occupy. It’s classic early Heartwood – uncompromising, intensely flavour-packed and absolutely not designed for casual sipping.
